Welcome to Stagestruck Performing Arts Studio Stagestruck is a one-stop studio for Art, Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre, and Cabaret. Let us help you explore “the artist within”! Our compassionate and professional staff, led by Director Michelle Oram, is committed to helping your child grow and master the art of “taking risks” in a warm, positive, and supportive environment. Our center is a three-thousand square foot, state of the art, air-conditioned facility with professional dance rooms. All of our classes are taught by professional performers with teaching experience, so not only technique is taught, but also good performance habits. All classes will culminate in a series of performances, showcasing what the students have learned. Whether your child has experience or not, our teachers will lead them by the hand through the journey of exploring their creative senses, giving students the tools they need to grow. We at Stagestruck know that a “shy” child is nothing but a child who is a perfectionist and is afraid of making a mistake. Getting rid of “self doubt” is so essential to any kind of success whether it be academic, sports, arts, or in the workplace.
Our art staff is full of college graduates and professionals, who are ready to assist your child in putting together an amazing portfolio for fun, high school competitions, and college admission.
Stagestruck students have won the NJ Playwrights competition because of our playwriting classes, as well as landed major roles in school plays, musicals, TV, and films due to our classes. Our theatre and improv classes have also helped students with public speaking and forensic debate team competitions.
On Saturdays, the studio is buzzing with excitement over our Performance Classes, which have tours to local facilities to perform their productions. Kathy Curialle, Director of the Oaks Health Center at Crane’s Mill, has said, “(Stagestruck’s) Intergenerational programs are truly the highlight of (our) leisure time.” After one of our intergenerational programs, a senior citizen said, “In the future…Someone will not remember what you said...They will not remember what you did…But they will always remember how you made them feel.”
Another exciting development is Stagestruck’s educational programs and workshops, which are offered in Drama, Musical Theatre, and Art Medias for K through 12th grade. These programs are receiving rave reviews from libraries and schools in the surrounding counties. Director, Michelle Oram, has seen the importance of reaching out to schools, libraries, and teachers. Arts Eductaion is necessary for the development of every child. Commitment and following through are important tools needed to succeed as adults.
Stagestruck Performing Arts Center
has grown, but not in class size, which means a higher quality of
education. Whether you learn to be a “Triple Threat”,
with Broadway intensive voice, theatre, and dance classes, or join
one of our competitive dance teams, we consider every student to be
a part of our nurturing family. So come on by or try out a class for
free and judge for yourself! The staff at Stagestruck hopes to give
life lessons that will be a part of your child forever. |
